Terms of Use
Effective September 29, 2026 · Last updated October 21, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Plantagram ("Plantagram", "we", "us") about using the Plantagram app and website at plantagram.garden (together, the "Service"). By creating a profile or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
The short version
- You must be at least 13.
- Zero tolerance for abusive content. No hate, harassment, threats, sexual content or anything that exploits children. We remove it and suspend or ban the account behind it.
- Report anything that breaks these rules. We review reports within 24 hours.
- Your posts stay yours. You let us show them in the Service.
- Only post photos and videos you took yourself. Copying them from Google, other websites or other apps is copyright infringement. It isn't allowed, and the owner can take legal action against you.
- Plantagram can't confirm that a plant is safe to eat. Plant identifications can be wrong, and food information in the app is for learning only. You agree never to use Plantagram to decide whether to eat a plant, or treat yourself with one.
1. Who can use Plantagram
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. If you're under the age where you live that's needed to agree to these Terms yourself, a parent or guardian must agree for you. You may not use the Service if we've previously banned you.
2. Your account
- You sign in with Google or with a one-time code sent to your email. Keep access to that email or Google account secure. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Use your own identity. Don't impersonate anyone, and don't create accounts to get around a suspension or a block.
- Your username and display name must follow the community rules below.
3. Community rules
Plantagram is a friendly place to share plants. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. You must not post, send or share:
- Hate: slurs, or attacks on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or serious illness.
- Harassment: bullying, insults aimed at a person, intimidation, or unwanted repeated contact, including by direct message.
- Threats and violence: threats, promotion of violence or self-harm, or graphic violence.
- Sexual content: nudity, pornography, sexual language or sexual solicitation.
- Anything that sexualizes or endangers children. We remove it immediately, ban the account, and report it to the authorities.
- Illegal activity: selling or promoting illegal drugs, weapons, or protected or illegally collected plants and animals.
- Spam and scams: spam, scams, fake accounts, misleading links, or manipulating likes and follows.
- Other people's private information: photos of people or private places shared without their consent, or someone's personal details.
- Content you don't have the rights to share: for example, other people's photos or videos, or pictures copied from Google, other websites, apps or social media. See Copyright below.
- Dangerous plant advice: for example, telling people a toxic plant is safe to eat.
Plantagram is about plants and nature, and posts should be too. Don't try to interfere with the Service, overload it, scrape it, or get around its security, filters or blocks.
4. Moderation and enforcement
- Filtering: text you post is automatically checked, and posts containing blocked language are rejected. Reels are reviewed by a moderator before they become public.
- Reporting: you can report posts, reels, comments and users from the ⋮ or 🚩 menus. For abusive messages, report or block the person from their profile. We review reports within 24 hours.
- Blocking: you can block any user. You'll stop seeing each other's content, and neither of you can message the other.
- Action we take: we may remove content, restrict features, or suspend or permanently ban accounts that break these Terms, with or without notice. For serious violations, such as threats or content that endangers children, we may also contact the authorities.
- Appeals: if you think we made a mistake, email Plantagram.app@gmail.com.
5. Your content and copyright
You keep ownership of the photos, videos, text and other content you post ("your content").
By posting it, you give Plantagram a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, copy, display and distribute your content within the Service. This lets us, for example, show it to other users, make thumbnails, and send notifications about it. The license ends when you delete the content or your account, except where others have already shared or saved it within the Service, and for a short time while backups roll over.
You're responsible for your content and promise you have the right to post it.
Copyright: only post your own photos and videos
Photos, videos and other images found online belong to the people who made them, even when they're free to view or easy to download. Uploading a photo or video you didn't take yourself, for example one found on Google Images, another website, another app or social media, or a screenshot of someone else's picture, is copyright infringement unless the owner has given you permission or its licence clearly allows it. It isn't allowed on Plantagram.
- What we do: we remove content that infringes someone's copyright, and we may restrict, suspend or permanently ban accounts that post it, especially accounts that do it more than once.
- What can happen to you: copyright is protected by law in Israel and in almost every other country. The owner of a photo can take legal action against the person who posted it, which can include a lawsuit, an order to pay damages or compensation, and legal costs. In some countries, serious or commercial infringement can also be a criminal offence.
- You're responsible for what you post. If someone makes a claim against Plantagram because of content you posted without the right to, you agree to cover the costs that result, to the extent the law allows.
- Not sure? Only post photos and videos you took yourself. If you use someone else's picture with their permission, say so in the caption.
Reporting infringement: if you believe content on Plantagram infringes your copyright, email Plantagram.app@gmail.com with a link to the content, a description of your work, and how we can contact you. We'll review it and remove the content if it infringes. If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake (for example, you took the photo yourself), you can reply to tell us.
6. Plant information and food
Plant identifications come from automated tools (Pl@ntNet and our own identification models) and from other users. They can be wrong. Information in the app, including videos, is for general interest only. It isn't professional, medical, veterinary or safety advice.
Never eat, use as medicine, or let pets or children handle a plant based only on what Plantagram says. Check with a qualified expert first.
Edible plants and food information
Plantagram can't confirm that a plant, mushroom or seaweed is safe to eat. By using the Service you agree that you won't use Plantagram as a source to confirm that anything is edible or safe, and that you won't eat it, use it as medicine, or give it to others because of what the app shows.
- For learning only: Explore › Edibles, the "Preparing it for eating" guides and the Food buttons on posts are general educational information. They describe named food species and parts, not the plant in any particular photo.
- Identification can be wrong: this includes when the app says it's sure, and when it names the exact species. A photo can't show everything needed to tell plants apart.
- Look-alikes and preparation: many edible plants have poisonous look-alikes, some edible plants have poisonous parts, and some are only safe after the right preparation. Amounts, allergies, medicines and health conditions also matter.
- Mushrooms: never eat a wild mushroom based on a photo or on the app. The mushroom guides are only about cultivated, shop-bought mushrooms.
- Before eating any plant: confirm the exact species, the part and how to prepare it with a qualified expert and reliable sources.
The app asks you to agree to this before you first open its food information.
7. Third-party content and services
The Service shows content from third parties, including YouTube videos and music tracks from their creators. By watching YouTube videos in Plantagram, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. We don't control third-party content or services and aren't responsible for them.
8. Leaving Plantagram
You can stop using Plantagram at any time and delete your account from inside the app (see how to delete your account). We may suspend or end your access if you break these Terms, or if we stop offering the Service. Sections 5 (for content already shared), 6, 9 and 12 continue to apply after your account ends.
9. Disclaimers and liability
The Service is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don't promise that it will always be available, error-free, or that content on it is accurate. Content posted by users is their own, not ours.
To the extent the law allows, Plantagram isn't liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from content posted by others or from relying on plant information in the Service, including eating or using a plant, mushroom or seaweed. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
10. App stores
If you got Plantagram from Apple's App Store or Google Play, these Terms are between you and Plantagram, not Apple or Google, and that store's own terms also apply. Apple and Google aren't responsible for the app, its content, support or maintenance. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
11. Changes
We may update these Terms. If a change is significant, we'll ask you to agree to the new version in the app before you continue. Otherwise, continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept it.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel. The competent courts of Israel have jurisdiction over disputes about them. This doesn't take away any mandatory consumer protection you have under the law of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim there.
13. Contact
